Kevin Trudeau is a convicted felon who once served prison time for posing as a doctor so that he could deposit tens of thousands of dollars in false checks. After spending two years in prison, he emerged on late night TV promoting his various health related products through infomercials.
For obvious reasons, Kevin Trudeau is not a trusted name in the infomercial business. The FTC even ordered him to stop his deceptive advertising techniques and actually banned him from running any more infomercials. You don't just get "banned" from airing infomercials unless you're seriously misleading people. Trudeau was also ordered to pay thousands of dollars for reimbursement to many customers.

Kevin Trudeau's tactic was to make his infomercial look as if it was completely news oriented and not paid for. He is the reason why you now see "The following is a paid advertisement and this channel does not necessarily agree with or endorse any of their products".
It should come as no surpise that I personally don't recommend Kevin Trudeau or any other convicted felon, for that matter.
